On the afternoon of June 7, Vice Secretary-General of Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC) & Chief Representative of Shanghai Office Ms. Yang Ling visited CIETAC and had in-depth exchanges with Vice President of CIETAC Arbitration Court Dr. Zhao Jian. Both sides discussed issues relating to the opening and integration of the arbitration market in the Mainland and Hong Kong, the status and trends of women¡¯s participation in arbitration in the Mainland and Hong Kong, and the social responsibilities of arbitration institutions, etc.
Zhao firstly welcomed the visit of Vice Secretary-General Ms.Yang Ling. He briefly introduced the development and case management method of CIETAC in recent years, the extensive cooperation between CIETAC and other international arbitration institutions, recent events and activities of CIETAC. He also expressed his willingness to further deepen pragmatic cooperation with HKIAC and jointly promote new development of arbitration cause.
Ms. Yang Ling said that arbitration institutions should take more social responsibility in the governance of countries and societies. HKIAC pays close attention to the status and situation of women in arbitration and is willing to actively encourage female arbitration practitioners to play more important roles.
The two sides also discussed and exchanged ideas on the arbitration rules of the two institutions, the management of arbitration procedures and the appointment of arbitrators, etc.
